So, I have finally done it! Book four, “Unforgivable Sins”, in the Morgan Morales Murder Mystery series is finished!
Well, the first draft is finished, it has to go through rigorous editing first, in several stages. Then there is the justification of the text. Justification? Yes, this is terminology specific to printing of books and has nothing to do with my book being worthy of printing. All it means, in this context is that the text has to be adjusted so that it will fit a cover of a specified size with the word count and its font and size, determining the width of the spine, with regard to paperbacks. It also has to be adjusted for e-books too, as the printing of electronic literature also has a definite size per page. Then I have to have the cover designed and then, of course, that too has to be adjusted to fit the specific size of the paperback.
When all that is done, and I have added all the references I need to, and I have included the copyright to protect my original work and preventing anyone from copying it without my permission, then I add the front covers of my other books to promote them. The last thing to write, well okay it could be the words “The End”, but no, it is the dedication and appears at the front. This is my chance to thank anyone who has helped me during the writing of the book, whether it is you, my loyal fans, or my husband John or anyone else who contributed to the creation of this book.
“Unforgivable Sins” is the fourth and last in the Morgan Morales Murder Mystery series, unless inspiration comes for book number 5 sometime in the future! However, this does not mean that I shall not be writing. I already have some scribbled notes for a standalone book, based in the UK and Spain for, even in fiction, I write what I know!
Now, here´s the question: what do you want? Another murder mystery? A psychological thriller? Or a cosy mystery? Let me know! I shall probably ignore you though because the book sort of writes itself.
However, the next book that I am writing is not necessarily the only thing to start soon. Holiday! Yes, John and I are getting ready for our summer holiday, touring Spain once again. Why not? It is a beautiful country and there is so much more for us to see.
This year we are starting and ending our holiday with two favourite cities, Toledo and Córdoba. We last visited Toledo in 2024 but, by no means did we see all the sites. Therefore, we are returning and even staying in the same hotel. This time we intend seeing the Army museum, the Templar museum, Toledo in motion, an immersive cinematographic experience to understand Toledo, before exploring it. Finally, we are going to the Manchego Cheese factory and museum. Lots still to do, even after our first busy visit two years ago.
Córdoba is totally different, although this time it is our third visit. The first time was in September 2021 on our honeymoon, when we saw most of the important sites, and the second was last year when we went to the mosque and the zoo.
This year we shall just be relaxing in the 5* Eurostars Palace, a superb hotel with 2 showers and a jacuzzi bath in the room and centrally located for visiting all our favourite tapas bars and restaurants. Two nights and three days of winding down after a pretty full agenda for the holiday.
The other places we are visiting are Segovia, Valladolid, Salamanca and Mérida, in all of which we have lots of places to visit to keep us interested in our holiday of four regions.
In my next blog I shall tell you all about the holiday and will have lots of photos to show you too. Have you got a holiday planned? I would love to hear where you are going!
